Your journey matters to us, and we’re committed to providing the friendly, dependable service that helps make your time on the trail enjoyable from start to finish.

A huge thanks to Brad for looking after our team of four Larapinta Trail hikers. He literally saved our two week trek from failure after my boots fell apart two days along the trail.Brad rearranged his schedule and made himself available to go and purchase a new pair of boots on my behalf, and deliver them, by dirt bike, in the dark of night to us at a very remote spot on the trail! How many companies can offer this level of commitment? He provided the full service including:Transfers in comfortable luxury vehicles or off-road mini buses as appropriate.Purchasing gas supplies and other items for our trek prior to our arrival in Alice SpringsFood and supply drops along the trail, including collection of personal items at the end of the trek and rubbish removal.Pricing is very reasonable considering the distances involved and remoteness of locations. We will have no hesitation in coming back to Brad for our next Larapinta adventure. After all our dramas, I hope he’ll still have us!!Hugh, Jo, Sarah and Zorry

Trek Support

G’day folks if you are looking for trek support on the Larapinta please look no further than Larapinta Shuttle for transfers to and from the trailhead and food drops. Brad at Larapinta Shuttle was a godsend on this trip. With a minor sprained ankle at Standley Chasm Brad ran out some strapping tape to me no questions asked. Even gave me some pointers on how to strap (I had no idea). This support from Brad saw me through to the end of my 2nd attempt at this trail and I successfully finished on the 31st of May ✌️Without guys like this out there we wouldn’t be able to enjoy this beautiful part of the world.

Picked us up from redbank gorge, after we finished the Larapinta track, and drove us back to Alice. Everything top notch, even had snacks and cold drinks on offer. Showed us where to eat near our accom and took us to pick up our suitcase from another accom. Fabulous service!!

About us

Local Knowledge. Reliable Service. Genuine Passion for the Larapinta Trail.

After spending three years travelling around Australia, we found ourselves in Alice Springs and instantly fell in love with the stunning landscapes, rugged ranges, and outdoor lifestyle that make Central Australia so special. What was initially a trip to compete in the famous Finke Desert Race turned into a place we are proud to call home. Eight years later, we’re still here and still passionate about sharing this incredible region with visitors from around the world.

Over the years, we have managed a local caravan park and built a successful transport business through  ASP Private Hire, providing airport transfers, Larapinta Trail transfers, food drops, private charters, and tours throughout Central Australia.

As our Larapinta Trail services continued to grow, we decided it was time to create a dedicated business focused solely on supporting hikers and adventurers. That’s how Larapinta Shuttle was born.

While the name may be new, the people, experience, and commitment to customer service remain exactly the same. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond to ensure every customer’s Larapinta Trail experience is smooth, stress-free, and enjoyable from start to finish.

To better support our customers, we’ve expanded our fleet with a 16-seat bus for larger group bookings and a Ford Everest 4WD capable of accessing remote trail locations, including sections that require high-clearance four-wheel-drive access.

Whether you need a simple trail transfer, food drops for a multi-day hike, gear retrieval, emergency support, or a fully customised transport solution, we’re here to help.

At Larapinta Shuttle, you’re not just another booking. You’re a fellow adventurer, and we’re committed to helping make your Larapinta Trail journey one to remember.

Reliable. Local. Comfortable. Getting you to the trail, supporting you along the way, and bringing you home safely.

Yes. Larapinta Shuttle offers transfers to and from Telegraph Station, whether you are starting or finishing your Larapinta Trail adventure.

Many hikers choose to arrange a transfer from their accommodation in Alice Springs to Telegraph Station at the start of their hike, or from Telegraph Station back to Alice Springs upon completion of the trail.

We can also combine Telegraph Station transfers with airport transfers, food drops, luggage storage, and other trail logistics to make your Larapinta experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.

If you’re unsure what transfers you need for your itinerary, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help plan the best option for your hike. 🚶‍♂️🏜️🚐

The Larapinta Trail is approximately 231 kilometres (143 miles) long and stretches from Telegraph Station in Alice Springs to Redbank Gorge in the West MacDonnell Ranges.

The trail is divided into 12 sections, allowing hikers to complete the entire trail over 12–20 days or choose shorter section hikes depending on their time, fitness level, and experience.

Many hikers spend around 14–16 days completing the full trail, while others choose to explore individual sections as day walks or shorter multi-day adventures.

Whether you’re tackling the entire trail or just a few sections, Larapinta Shuttle can help with transfers, food drops, luggage storage, and trail logistics to make your hike as enjoyable as possible.

The Larapinta Trail is a remote wilderness trail and hikers should be well prepared before setting out. Mobile phone coverage is limited and unreliable, with many sections of the trail having little to no reception. You should not rely on your mobile phone for navigation, communication, or emergency assistance.

For your safety, we recommend carrying a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB), satellite communicator, or satellite phone, particularly if hiking solo or undertaking remote sections of the trail.

Before your hike, ensure you:

  • Carry adequate water and know where your next water source is located.

  • Check weather and trail conditions.

  • Carry a map and navigation tools.

  • Inform someone of your hiking itinerary.

  • Carry sufficient food, first aid supplies, and appropriate clothing.

In an emergency, dial 000 if you have phone service available. If you are carrying a PLB or satellite emergency device, activate it only in a genuine emergency situation.

The Larapinta Trail is an incredible experience, but proper planning and preparation are essential for a safe and enjoyable hike. Larapinta Shuttle is always happy to help with trail logistics and local advice before you set off. 🥾🏜️🚐

What Weather Conditions Should I Expect?

Weather in Central Australia can change quickly and temperatures can vary significantly between day and night.

Typical winter conditions include:

  • Daytime temperatures: 15–25°C

  • Night-time temperatures: 0–10°C (sometimes lower)

  • Low humidity and generally dry conditions

  • Occasional strong winds and rain events

Regardless of the season, hikers should:

  • Carry adequate water

  • Pack warm clothing for cold mornings and evenings

  • Be prepared for changing weather conditions

  • Check forecasts and trail conditions before departure

The cooler months from May through August are generally considered the best balance of comfortable daytime hiking temperatures and safe trail conditions, making them the preferred choice for most Larapinta Trail hikers. 🥾🏜️☀️❄️🚐
